Rescue of Trapped Kitten from Bakery shop’s Barrier in Havalan, Erbil

Rescue of Trapped Kitten from Bakery shop’s Barrier in Havalan, Erbil

On (15/4/2025), the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization received a call to rescue a baby cat trapped in a bakery shop in Havalan, Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Workers had heard the kitten’s cries for 3 days before contacting us.
Our rescue team arrived with professional tools to locate the cat, which had fallen from the second floor into a closed barrier. Since there was no opening to reach the kitten, the team carefully cut through the barrier using an angle grinder, ensuring the cat was not harmed by the sparks.
Once the outlet was created, the kitten was safely rescued. After searching the area, no mother cat was found. The baby was then taken to our shelter, where one of our nursing cats accepted and began to breastfeed her.
