KAP CEO Farman Fadhil Discusses Stray Dog Issues on GK TV
On February 14, 2025, Farman Fadhil, CEO of the Kurdistan Animal Protection (KAP) organization, appeared on GK TV alongside presenter Shatoo Khalil, Dr. Awaz Sardar, Veterinary Officer of Bakrajo, and animal rights activist Mr. Saryas from Kalar. The discussion centered on the challenges and solutions for stray animals in the region.
Farman Fadhil emphasized that solving the stray dog problem requires collaboration between organizations and government support. He outlined KAP’s Catch, Neuter, Relocate (CNR) strategy as a systematic approach to reduce incidents involving stray dogs. He urged Dr. Awaz to begin implementing this strategy while maintaining detailed records for transparency and reliability, showcasing the progress of neutered animals.
Fadhil also called for increased access to government-run shelters for animal lovers, activists, and organizations. He suggested allowing volunteers to visit shelters and provide assistance directly, rather than merely dropping off help at the door. This, he argued, would improve conditions and foster greater cooperation in addressing animal welfare challenges.
