Rescue and Recovery of Abused Monkey in Erbil

Rescue and Recovery of Abused Monkey in Erbil

In Erbil, a monkey reportedly endured severe abuse at the hands of its owner, leaving it unconscious and confined for an extended period. Medical evaluations revealed that the monkey had become an unintended victim in a domestic dispute, causing it extreme physical and emotional trauma. Witnesses report that the owner forced the monkey to consume alcohol in a fit of anger, leading to its eventual collapse. The incident left the animal deeply fearful of human voices and in need of urgent medical attention.

Following its rescue, the monkey has been under the intensive care of Kurdistan Animal Protection. In updates provided to K24, Rudaw, and +964 Channel, Mr. Farman Fadhil, founder of Kurdistan Animal Protection, confirmed that the monkey has shown significant improvement. Now in stable condition, the monkey is ready to return to a normal life, free from harm. This case highlights the need for stronger animal protection laws in the Kurdistan Region to prevent similar incidents in the future.
