Speaking to a TV presenter during the peaceful protest, one of the passionate volunteers of the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization emphasized the need to be “the voice for the voiceless.” She strongly criticized the use of religion to justify the killing of stray dogs, saying:
“It’s deeply concerning to see killing being promoted in the name of religion. We ask those supporting this to look within, listen to their conscience, and return to the true values of religion—kindness, care, and protection of life.”
She called on families and communities to raise children with compassion, adding: “Teach them to be friends with animals, to care for them, feed them, and not cause fear or suffering. No faith accepts cruelty—only love and mercy.
