KAPO Member Speaks Out: Killing is Not the Solution—We Must Care for Them

During the peaceful protest held by the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization (KAPO) on January 23, 2025, in front of the Kirkuk Governorate building, one of the organization’s members passionately spoke out against the decision to kill stray dogs.

“This is not the solution,” she said. “We should help these animals by feeding them and creating clean, safe environments where they can live. Every life matters, and compassion should guide our actions.”

The protest gathered dozens of activists, animal lovers, and volunteers holding banners, calling for humane alternatives like neutering, vaccination, and shelter programs instead of mass killing
