KAPO CEO: “Religion Is Being Misused to Justify the Killing of Innocent Animals”

KAPO CEO: “Religion Is Being Misused to Justify the Killing of Innocent Animals”

During a press conference at the peaceful, government-approved protest on January 23, 2025, the CEO of the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization (KAPO), Farman Fadhil Hasan, responded to a question from a TV presenter regarding the use of religion to justify the killing of stray dogs.

He firmly stated: “We are witnessing a dangerous manipulation of religion to normalize the killing of stray animals. This is not only misleading—it’s deeply inhumane. We’ve seen even puppies being killed without any reason. That is simply unacceptable.”

He went on to condemn the practices currently taking place in Kirkuk and the promotion of similar actions in Duhok, calling them a violation of both moral and humane values.
