On 2023-12-27 the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization received a request from Ms. Erica, who expressed her desire to visit the Erbil shelter to provide care for sick animals. In line with our mission to support animal welfare, our organization promptly assigned two team members to accompany Ms. Erica and assist her during her visit.

Upon arrival, our team and Ms. Erica began working together to address the needs of the animals at the shelter. Unfortunately, a misunderstanding occurred between Ms. Erica and the shelter’s security personnel. This misunderstanding escalated into an unfortunate incident, during which Ms. Erica was treated disrespectfully, and a physical altercation took place. Regrettably, one of our team members was injured during the incident.

Following the altercation, our team and Ms. Erica were forced to leave the shelter. The matter has since been referred to the legal authorities and is currently under judicial review.
