On May 30, 2023, the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization (KAPO) experienced a heartbreaking incident when a kennel designed to shelter vulnerable street dogs in Hawleri Nwe was set ablaze by an unknown group. This tragic event resulted in the immediate loss of three dogs, while two of the rescued dogs suffered injuries.

In an interview with Kurdistan 24, Mr. Farman Fadhil, the founder of KAPO, spoke about the incident and emphasized the organization’s commitment to ensuring that the injured dogs receive the best possible medical care. KAPO is devoted to the welfare of all animals in our community and calls on everyone to take a stand against cruelty towards animals.
