On May 30, 2023, the Kurdistan Animal Protection Organization (KAPO) experienced a devastating incident when a dog kennel, built to ensure the safety of vulnerable street dogs in Hawleri Nwe, was set on fire by an unknown group. This tragic event resulted in the immediate loss of three dogs, and Two of the rescued dogs sustained injuries.
Mr. Farman Fadhil, the founder of KAPO, spoke to Rudaw about the incident and emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing the injured dogs with the best possible medical treatment and care. KAPO remains dedicated to protecting the welfare of all animals in our community and urges everyone to stand against acts of cruelty towards animals.
